Unusual Words in this Blog

September 1, 2010

As ardent supporters of the English language, the two authors of this blog may sometimes use language that others consider to be too fancy or complicated.   We do this for two reasons:

1. We like those words, and its our blog.

2. If nobody uses a word, it gets forgotten and the language becomes poorer.

However, we also believe that language is for clear communication and not a method of showing off.  So, when we select a word that is not in common use we will explain it.  Maybe someone will learn a new word and start using it – which would make us very happy.

If we use language that doesn’t make sense to you,  we have failed to communicate clearly with our audience – which is what we are all about.  So please tell us and we will gladly explain.
